"Winter", the injured Dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater. She was trapped in a Lobster trap and a fisherman found her and called the aquarium. Due to injuries received, she lost her tail and had to learn to swim again.Winter now swims like a Shark with a side-to-side motion. This swimming technique is causing a curvature to her spine. So the vet and the developer created a prosthesis to replace her tail. Since there was nothing to attach the prosthesis to, they had to figure a way for her to keep it on while swimming, jumping, etc. It is held on by suction. She's pretty remarkable.

Thank you so much, Jim and Margo. Yes, the story of Winter is very sad and humans need to be aware of what they're doing to these poor creatures. If I've made an impression on just one person so that they're more careful with their trash on our beaches, then it is worth it.
Winter is really a sweet Dolphin. Unfortunately, she'll never return to the wild. However, she is helping many amputees, so all is not lost.
